The year is 1839, exactly three years after an eldritch spawn appeared in the middle of Europe, birthing an army of disgusting, unspeakable abominations unknown to mankind who have ravaged the land for months, wave after wave. Three years after the war, where every European nation had united sharing the same burden, declaring war on the spawn and sending hundreds of their finest men to fight the being and save Europe; war, that was lost, but yet wasn't a fatal blow for the world. While the kingdoms failed at defeating the spawn, they succeeded at containing it, thus preventing it from spreading further onto Europe.

A fair chunk of Europe is under the being's corruption, a place unknown and dangerous, simply known as the Zone. And yet, that doesn't stop people from venturing in. The promise of rare artifacts and treasure makes many see gold through their eyes, mercenaries, and daredevils who illegally cross onto the zone to seek immense wealth. Others, venture in for fame and glory, to have their face saved in history as a slayer of monsters, a bringer of hope.. and some others, simply want to research all the magic and corruption ever-popular in these cursed lands.
