Two years ago, the multiversal threat known as Yul devastated the planet’s population, leaving behind only 15% of humanity to pick up the pieces. Reeling from the largest mass extinction in human history, greater than that of nuclear warfare, the remaining men and women of the world stood in a new light, realizing how fragile their race was. Wars slowed down. Politics were silenced. All that humanity could think about was how to best help the remaining population, keep infrastructure running, and grieve those lost in the cataclysm. Relief apartments popped up across the States and in most first-world countries. People who lived in the slums in Southeast Asia soon found themselves drinking hot tea in Brussels. In the grand scheme of things, the world didn’t stop spinning. Superpowers started to pop up with increasing frequency, and the scum of the Earth who stopped for a moment to offset their losses from Yul, went back to their daily business. Even in a wounded world, where everyone has to pitch in to heal it, there will be some who let those gashes fester. Villains tread on the lacerations with dirty soles - and they need to be stopped. But as with all things, it’s easier said than done.
