General Introduction to RebornOS
RebornOS tries to be/offer:
• Beginner friendly: live support on Discord, helping beginners with basic commands (and not just telling them to read the manual), and a respectful and friendly community. In contrast, there are other communities catered towards more experienced users and they may have expectations from you in terms of knowing stuff, that may appear as rude (I am sure they mean good slight_smile).
• GUI friendly: We freely offer GUI options like pamac out of the box. We also offer in-house applications like RebornOS FIRE (still in beta, for installing desktops and display managers, and also for system maintenance), RebornOS Welcome, One click refresh of mirrors, and more planned applications that are in the works.
• Choices and consent: We want to offer as much choice as possible, respecting user consent. We don't want to bloat the user's system. We want to offer optional software that they can choose. Our installer offers some of those choices, but we're not there yet in terms of offering more. We're working on projects that address this need.
